Letters for academic year 2018-19
World Book Day
Friday 1st March
“Share a Story”
This year the Share a Story campaign is aimed at parents and carers highlighting the importance of spending 10 minutes a day reading and sharing stories with their children.
Here at school we have chosen a book to share with the children in every class and we are running a share a story session when all children will share a story with another child in school from a different key stage.
We would like the children in Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 to bring in favourite book that they would like to read with an older child. Please can you make sure it is labelled clearly with their full name.
To celebrate, we are asking the children to come to school, dressed up as their favourite book character. This is not compulsory but it is always lovely to see the children in costumes and dressing up really encourages them to talk to each other about their favourite characters and stories.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to an exciting day.
