At Darley Dene, our assemblies are an opportunity for children to learn about and reflect upon their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. We learn about our own and other cultures, staying safe and the personal qualities that will help us to be happy and successful citizens within school and beyond.
We centre most of our assemblies around our six values: Empathy, Honesty, Kindness, Positivity, Resilience & Respect, visiting 1 value per week. Our Friday assembly is our Star of the Week assembly where we celebrate those children who have demonstrated the value each week. These children's parents are invited to the assembly.
Our assemblies run as follows:
Monday - Whole school assembly - Value of the week
Tuesday - KS1/KS2 split assemblies - other culture/religious theme where relevant
Wednesday - In-class assemblies
Thursday - Whole school singing assembly
Friday - Star of the Week assembly
All of our staff attend assemblies
