As an infant and nursery school, we are very aware that this may be the first school your child will attend. Knowledge and skills learned at this early stage are crucial, as they are the sound foundations upon which subsequent learning must be built.

We believe that close links between home and school are vital and that this partnership will enhance learning for your child. The school has a dedicated and committed staff who provide a wide range of learning experiences within a safe and secure environment.

Darley Dene School was opened in 1966. It is a community school and takes in children between 3 and 7 years old. We have a nursery class, reception class, year 1 and year 2 classes. We also have a special needs cluster group for 12 children.

Our school is set in spacious and secure grounds with several outdoor play areas and a school field. The accommodation is within single-storey buildings linked by connecting corridors.

The foundation block comprises the nursery and extended reception class and has its own secure outdoor area. The extended year 1 class and the year 2 class also have access to their own outdoor areas, as does the cluster group.

There is also a large hall, a dining hall, library, ICT suite and offices. All areas are accessible by wheelchair users.
